I LOVE that picture! And I need what's inside.
Hi Robin, I agree! The painting is Caspar David Friedrich, entitled: "Cross in the Mountains". I believe he painted it on his honeymoon, and the two people climbing up to the cross are himself and his new bride. Dad took me to see it in Berlin when I was 14 and I still remember it; it's huge!
I have SO pre-ordered my copy yall!
John, I remember your father loved that painting, and you told me he took you to see it while your family lived in Europe. You said it was so powerful, and enormous. We weren't really that into the Jesus we now know at that time, but He was working on it! Now to see it on the cover of your father's new book that Burke edited, it just makes me think of God and all of his “behind the scenes action” in people’s lives. It's great!
I know what I'm giving as Christmas presents this year!
